Lisa Thompson, FNP

Lisa Thompson, AGACNP-BC, FNP-BC, is a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in adult-gerontology acute care. She works alongside the friendly medical team at Gorman Medical, PC, in Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek, Colorado.

Lisa began her nursing career at Otero Junior College in La Junta, Colorado, where she earned her associate’s degree in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse in hospitals, community health centers, and a hospice and palliative care center for nearly a decade before returning to school for her advanced degrees.

Lisa earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, then attended Colorado State University-Pueblo for her Master of Science in nursing. She graduated in 2022 as a family nurse practitioner.

At Gorman Medical, PC, Lisa provides advanced care for adults with complex, chronic conditions. She works closely with her patients and their entire healthcare teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans that address both their physical and mental needs.

From initial physical exams to administering therapies, Lisa strives to deliver quality care with compassion. She is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and National Institutes of Health (NIH) stroke certified. In 2021, Lisa was awarded Nurse of the Year at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado.
